Very rare floor standing snake lamp after the original by edgar brandt which sold in 1994 at christies for $76,000 a very good looking and decorative piece, the original sold as above for $76,000 just over $90,000 with fees, the later editions which were made around 20-30 years after, they come up every now and then in european auctions and sell for €35,000- €50,000 this is a mid-century piece circa 1940-1960, its bronze gilt, very heavy, it has a lovely shade which has a lct type of iridescent to it condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, it has been fully rewired with a new floor inline switch, the shade has some scratches from being fitted and removed, mostly its in very fine order.
